Gardening for Biodiversity

Everton is blessed with a rich diversity of wildlife. However, development and deterioration of our wild areas, alien invasive plants and insensitive gardening are making it harder for them to find  suitable food and shelter to stay healthy and happy in this area.

In other words, we need to provide the right habitats for the wildlife that we hope to attract to our gardens.

This booklet aims to inspire and inform anyone who is looking to enhance their garden as a haven for Everton’s amazing local biodiversity.

Biodiversity refers to the diversity (range) and the numbers of all the living organisms in an area, including microscopic life that we don’t even see which is in the soil, water and all around us.
